Saying hi & reviewing: SkinChemist's 24 Hour Aqua Repair Facial Serum

Hi cuties and welcome to my first review! I've finally decided to combine two things I love - writing and beauty products. I hope you'll find this review helpful and you will revisit my blog for some more content. :)

SkinChemist's 24 Hour Aqua Repair Facial Serum

I got this product in the middle of March, when I got my Lookfantastic monthly Beauty Box (https://www.lookfantastic.com/offers/beauty-box.list). At first, I thought that the March edition wasn't that great at all but then I tried this serum and I really fell in love! When you go to the SkinChemist's site (https://www.skinchemists.com/face/customers-favorites/24-hour-aqua-repair-facial-serum.html) and look at the product description, it says that this serum soothes and hydrates the skin for all day moisturisation and it's perfect for a quick zap of hydration. And I do believe it's true, I've been using it (and loving it!) it for more than a week and I really do feel the zap of hydration.
The serum has a really strong, sweet scent. It's not overwhelming but that's something to consider if you're not into strong smells. A thing I was surprised by is that it has a gel consistency. Since I have only used liquid serums, you can only imagine my surprise. And now I know that I like the gel  better than the liquid ones. When I went to the SkinChemists's site to buy the full size product, I realized that the one I had in my beauty box, was the full size. It was a little unexpected and I felt let down. And the price didn't make me any happier either - it costs 45 euros for a 30ml product. I know that you do pay for what you get but this was a little upsetting. But hey, at least I get to enjoy it without paying the full price.
Another little disappointment were the ingredients. I researched all of the 19 ingredients online and on the Paula's choice Cosmetic Ingredient Dictionary (http://www.paulaschoice.com/cosmetic-ingredient-dictionary/) and found 3 that were rated and considered "poor" and they are - Benzyl Salicylate (http://www.paulaschoice.com/cosmetic-ingredient-dictionary/definition/benzyl-salicylate), Alpha-isomethyl Ionane (http://www.paulaschoice.com/cosmetic-ingredient-dictionary/definition/fragrance-synthetic-and-plant-extracts/alpha-isomethyl-ionone) and Limonene (http://www.paulaschoice.com/cosmetic-ingredient-dictionary/definition/fragrance-synthetic-and-plant-extracts/limonene). I included links so you can check for yourself if it would be good for you or not. If you have super-sensitive skin, then I wouldn't recommend the product for you. But it does work for me - I've never had any issues with skin sensitivity and I don't have any skin allergies and haven't had any rashes, so this product does work wonders on my face. It has also removed some redness and I do feel fresher.

I created my own little rating system(0-10 point scale) so I could tell if the product is good or not and should I recommend it. So I have 5 categories for 2 points each and they are :
  1. Smell
  2. Packaging
  3. Does it work for me?
  4. Price
  5. Ingredients
So the SkinChemist's 24 Hour Aqua Repair Facial Serum gets 2 points for smell, 1 point for packaging, does it work? - 2 points, the price gets 0 points and the ingredients get 1 point.
I rate it a 6/10.  I recommend it but I honestly think there are better ways to spend your money and that it's not that good of a value.

Thank you for your time and have a great day!
Laura
